Alpine Skiing Classes:

Piou-Piou

  • I have never put skis on.
  • The first discovery of skiing and its equipment during a week spent in the Piou Piou Club (kindergarden).

Ourson

  • How to go down in a snowplough fashion turning around 4 to 5 poles. 
  • Easy route Nordic style. Can ski with skis parallel straight downhill and stop using a snowplough turn.

Flocon

  • Can do a succession of 7 to 8 snowplough turns with a return to parallel skis. 
  • Can go down a slope on a trajectory more or less straight.
  • Can do balance test by sliding downhill facing the slope (with little jumps).

1st star

  • On a medium slope, can do a succession of elementary turns on marked route. 
  • Can retain his/her balance when sliding across gentle to moderately steep slopes.
  • Is starting to be able to sideslip (uphill swing, at an angle).

2nd star

  • Can complete a series of smooth elementary turns, crossing the fall line with skis parallel and can complete turns with an uphill swing taking into account external factors (terrain profile, other users, snow quality, etc.). 
  • Can ski over hollows and bumps, across or down the slope, while retaining his/her balance.

3rd STAR

  • Can complete a succession of a dozen turns marked by 10 to 12 poles on a medium slope
  • Basic single garland.
  • Direct line looking for speed, finishing with a parallel stop.

Bronze star

  • Non-timed line assessed by the pupil's ability to complete perfect basic turns, with two changes of rhythm on a varied slope.
  • Basic high-speed turn.
  • Passage through small bumps with slight take-off.

GOLD STAR

  • Small timed Giant Slalom style course.
  • A technical descent linking advanced turns and short swings on varied terrain.

  • Giant Slalom, 25/35 gates, difference in height: 200 to 250 metres
  • Or: from 0% to 15%
  • Vermeil: from 15,01% to 28%
  • Argent: from 28,01% to 40%
  • Bronze: from 40,01 to 50%
  • Flechette: from 50,01 to 55%
