Students are not insured by the ESF, we therefore advise you to take the "Carré Neige" insurance. 
The ESF Les Karellis offers the Carré Neige Insurance to give you all the guarantees of insurance and assistance necessary in the event of an accident during your stay. 

With the Carré Neige Insurance, during your stay, you will benefit from the knowledge of the sector's professionals and complete service, from on the slopes rescue to refunding of your ski lifts pass as well as the transport in an ambulance. 

You assure your own protection, but also the protection of your family and limit the costs which can be sky-rocketing. Therefore, to ski with a peace of mind and go down the slopes in full serenity, alone, with your family or with friends, think of Carré Neige. 


What happens when an accident occurs? 
Carré Neige bears the costs of the expenses as soon as you need professionals to help rescue you or look for you, or to administer first aid.

Skiing lessons refund*:
  • In the eventuality of an accident of the person insured leading to an inability to ski
  • In the eventuality of illness
  • In the eventuality of early return of the family of the person insured
  • In the eventuality of repatriation of the injured person holder of the Carré Neige insurance
  • In the eventuality of the ski lifts stopping for more than 5 consecutive hours
  • To a parent (and only one) holder of the Carré Neige Insurance who has to look after an injured child holder of a Carré Neige Insurance
  • In the eventuality of the ski lifts stopping due to bad weather for more than 1 day on more than 80% of the full skiing area

What is the procedure in the eventuality of a repatriation?
  • Beyond 150 kilometres, if your medical condition requires it, you can ask to be repatriated by calling Europ Assistance on the following number: 01 41 85 85 96
  • Under 150 kilometres and on the day of the accident: in order to be covered or reimbursed, you can contact Carré Neige management centre on the following number: 04 79 07 36 11 or 04 79 07 36 12
How do I get my skiing lessons refunded?
You need to fill in before 8 days the claim form available on the the Carré Neige website or in the Carré Neige sales points and send it, with the supporting documents enclosed, at the following address:
  • DIOT Montagne - Assurances Carré Neige - BP 19 - 73 704 Bourg Saint Maurice Cedex 
Enclose the following supporting documents:
  • Original ski-lift pass (and/or the proof of purchase of your pass and your Carré Neige Insurance)
  • Initial medical statement including precise nature of the injuries and whether there is an inability to ski.
How can I follow the progress of my refunds?
As soon as we start dealing with your insurance claim, we will give you a number of reference. It will enable you to follow in real time the progress of your refunds on the website.
